The World of Protists and Plantlike Protists

We have been studying cells and their organelles and the different types of cells, as well as the parts of the microscope.

Its time we had some fun!

Your next task is to complete the lab attached here, you will need a print out, supplied by your teacher or you can print a color copy here.

You should work with a lab partner, but each of you should hand in your own paper.

Begin by getting a microscope from the microscope cart and while you and your partner look over the parts of the 'scope, complete the fill in the blank portion of this lab activity using the "How to Use a Microscope" poster. Once you have had it checked by your teacher, you may get a test tube rack and begin observing specimen.

You will want a copy of The World of Protists to help you understand what you are looking at and answer the questions.

There will be a quiz to end this unit, it will have questions from the lab and from "The World of Protists"
